The balabonnet is a hybrid between the popular balaclava and the bonnet. It is knitted from the top down with two strands of yarn for a chunky, playful look. You can choose to knit either a short neck with one I-cord bow or a longer neck with two I-cord bows. You can also knit it with a long scarf! It's a good idea to decide this before you start knitting.
Head circumference: approx. 53-60 cm
Recommended needles: 9mm and 8mm
Gauge: 9 sts = 10 cm
If the gauge doesn't match, you need to change needles. If you knit tighter, use thicker needles. If you knit
looser, use thinner needles.
Yarn suggestions: Tjukk mohair or Puno from Rauma garn (this is also a perfect project for leftover yarn)
Yarn amount: Balabonnet with I-cord: 100 g (scarf version: 150g)
