Effortless Mesh Scarf

This elegant and stylish scarf is surprisingly simple and quick to crochet. A beginner friendly pattern that makes a beautiful accessory that will complement any Spring, Summer or early Fall outfit. The stitch pattern is an easy to memorize mesh that creates a light and drapey scarf and makes an effortless and relaxing crocheting experience. A great project for combining with other activities like watching tv or listening to an audiobook. Worked flat in rows, lenghthwise, all in one piece. The size of the scarf can be easily modified to be shorter, longer, thinner or wider, and can be made into a shawl by simply tripling the width (don’t forget to adjust the yarn quantity accordingly). Once finished, leave it as-is, or add the optional decorative edge stitch for a nice finished look. The suggested yarn is Truboo by Lion Brand, a DK weight 100% Bamboo Rayon yarn that is extremely silky, soft (especially after blocking), and has excellent drape. Bamboo is a great yarn for warm weather as it feels cooling, and the mesh stitch pattern lets air through, so this is a great option for a warm weather accessory. A linen blend yarn like Sandness Garn Line or Drops Belle also works wonderfully with this pattern. You could also go with a soft fuzzy yarn for a late fall/early spring option.
