A cozy, colorful cardigan worked seamlessly from the top down, with no sewing of main pieces and no seaming of sleeves. Two-color stripes in navy and olive, framed with a contrast red 1x1 ribbed edging on the neckline, front bands, hem and cuffs.

This pattern was tested on my own sample and written step by step in simple language, so it is a good choice if you have knitted a few simple projects and want to try a raglan cardigan.

Yarn: Lana Grossa Cool Wool Big (100% extra-fine merino, 50 g = approx. 120 m)

Color A (Navy): 4.5 balls, approx. 540 m
Color B (Olive): 4.5 balls, approx. 540 m
Color C (Red, for the edging): 0.5 ball, approx. 60 m

Needles: 4 mm (US 6) circular needles, 80-100 cm, plus a short circular or double-pointed needles for the cuffs

Gauge: 20 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles

Notions: 4 stitch markers, 1 contrast marker, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle, 7 buttons

Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate. You will need to know the knit and purl stitches, make 1 increases, k2tog and ssk, and how to pick up stitches.
