The size of the scarf can be easily modified to be shorter, longer, thinner or wider, and can be made into a shawl by simply tripling the width (don’t forget to adjust the yarn quantity accordingly). Once finished, leave it as-is, or add the optional decorative edge stitch for a nice finished look. The suggested yarn is Truboo by Lion Brand, a DK weight 100% Bamboo Rayon yarn that is extremely silky, soft (especially after blocking), and has excellent drape. Bamboo is a great yarn for warm weather as it feels cooling, and the mesh stitch pattern lets air through, so this is a great option for a warm weather accessory. A linen blend yarn like Sandness Garn Line or Drops Belle also works wonderfully with this pattern. You could also go with a soft fuzzy yarn for a late fall/early spring option.
