Description
Basic fingerless mitts pattern that makes a fun quick knit. These mitts fit just right and make a great go-to winter accessory or thoughtful gift. Perfect for adding extra warmth while keeping fingers free for using your phone, typing, knitting, drawing, etc. Remember, basic patterns are great for adding your own modifications or letting a really fun yarn be the main focus. A great pattern for beginners that uses only 2x2 rib and stockinette. The only tricky part is the Italian cast on and bind off, but feel free to replace these with something more simple if preferred such as long tail or German twisted cast on and any cast off that allows for some stretch. A great project for single skeins, a pair of mitts uses less than one 50g skein of fingering weight yarn, so is a great single skein buster and perfect for using up leftovers! I love the soft feel and durability of the Comfy yarn, but any fingering weight yarn may be used. Knitted from the bottom up, magic loop technique with circular needles is recommended, or use DPNs. Full written instructions as well as materials list and all necessary information is included the downloadable PDF. Currently this pattern is only offered in 1 size - women’s medium - which fits a hand circumference of 7”/18cm and a wrist circumference of 6”/15.5cm. Pattern © 2025 Courtney McFarland.
